Essence Blusher Brush

I couldn’t resist myself when I saw this Essence’s Blusher Brush on display at Coci Coci.  I walked in, saw it and grab it without hesitation.  Part of the reason is because it was priced rather reasonably, at RM14.90, and the other reason is because it felt so soft on my skin when I tested it.

(see how fluffy it is)
When it’s used with a blusher, it works wonders.  It picks up the right amount of blush and it settles the blusher to sit nicely on my skin.  I don’t have to worry about picking up too much pigments and applying it too thick onto my cheeks.  Such a darling brush.   It also works well to blend the blusher and remove all the harsh lines.  Simple and easy to use.

The blusher brush is pretty handy for travel use given its size.  I usually keep the plastic wrap that comes with the blusher so that I could slot it back whenever I need to travel with my brush.  Keeps the shape and I don't have to worry about it getting dirty too.

I'd say this is a good buy and I'm kinda itching to go back to Coci Coci to explore and see what they have =D

Fen Ling Face Brush; Feeling Soft, Feeling Lovely...

I am in love with my Fen Ling Face Brush.  Why?  Because it's oh... sooo soft on my skin.  It doesn't prick me nor does it make my skin too cakey.  It picks up the powder well enough and does a good job spreading the powder over my face.

I like the fact that the bristles are soft and not too lush or compact.  I know some likes their face brush to be compact, but I don't.  When its less compact, it seems to be able to brush across my face rather easily and removes the hassle of me needing to use too much strength.

I did notice that the fen ling Brushes seemed to attempt to position themselves side by side ecotools. I've not used Ecotools before hence I cannot make any comparison. In terms of price though, I do note that here is a gap between these two brands. As it's name indicates, Fen Ling is from China. So, if you don't mind where it is from and you are looking for a cheaper alternative, this may be an item you want to explore on.

My Skunk Brush turned BLACK

Am wondering if any of you have the same experience as me?  After 2nd time of washing my Etude House Dual Fibre Brush, I realised that my white bristles are turning black.  Look at the photos below!  I seriously dunno what to do.  Any advice? Sigh.....
See how black it is!
It's still so black from the side view.  Aih....

Do share with me if you know what I could do with it.  Else I'll need to bin it =(

Etude House Dual Fibre Cheek Brush

Okay, the picture on the left isn't taken by me, I have to admit that.  I can't seem to be able to snap the picture nicely to show you how my brush looks like, but.. OH MY GOSH! I love this brush!!! Haha... okok.. *calm down calm down*

Why the hypeness of it?  Well, I've not tried other dual fibre brush, but I'm quite sold on this.  I've actually done some research on it and it seems that the reviews are quite good, so during the recent "sale" whereby Etude House were releasing this brush at 40% off, I totally made a run for it! It's such a darling bargain I tell you.

I think you can see me lil brush in the picture below.

Being a star item for Etude House, it's also known as a skunk brush (looks it right, white and black =D).  I know some people used to as a liquid foundation applicator, but I've kept it to my blush now.  It does a great job transferring my blusher onto my cheeks and I can take my time to layer it!  Now I don't have to worry about overdoing it (I got commented once by a colleague asking if I'm sick, coz I think the blusher turns out to be too heavy for me *sad*).  As you can see, the white tip has become pink due to the blush powder (the blusher I used is right above that brush there, nice eh?)

Not only that, the brush is a mix of goat hair and synthetic fibres, so it feels soft and smooth on my skin.  Unless I look in the mirror, I don't actually feel the bristles on my skin.

Besides using it as a blusher brush, I've also tried to use it as my powder brush.  I used it with my compact powder and it's great too!  The powder looks natural on my skin as compared to using a sponge, and it allows me to cover those hard to reach places around my face too.  The downside to it is that, the bristles are slightly stiff, so you can't actually "spread by pulling" your brush around your face.  It takes longer too due to that, as well as the brush's small as compared to the normal sized powder brush.  I guess that's why I'm sticking to using my cutie skunk brush as a blusher brush.

I've washed it twice since I've bought it (a few weeks back) and I've got no problems with shedding.  It dries rather quickly so that's a good thing for me too.

Wash Those Make Up Brushes

Okay, I got to admit it, I'm kinda lazy when it comes to washing my brushes!! Whee.... oh my, what an admittance.  Okay, okay. So today, being the gungho me, I washed my car and also I washed my brushes! They are like next to me right now (with my powder brush looking so cacated ok)

Since they've taken their bath, they are pretty spretty clean now.. woo hoo! I know, I have very little brush right?? I'm like eyeing a couple now from Etude House and The Face Shop since there's sale!! Whee!! Alright, alright.  What I really want to share with you is the stuff that I use to wash my brushes.  What do you use?  Do share with me yea.  As for me, I saw this cute and dandy find at Daiso (they've got such great collections! dontcha agree??)
Used my mobile to take it, I know the picture's not to clear, but hope it's good enough for ya.  Initially, I thought what it was, since it was placed near those puff and stuff.  I mean, I was like thinking, why is there a detergent placed so near the make up stuff? Blurz...Having a closer look shows that it's actually for puff and sponge!  Since I use sponge for my compact powder, I thought it would be a good buy.  Hey, come on, for RM5, of course I'd grab it for sure!  Anyhow, I figured, since it works for puff and sponge, it should work for brushes right?  And viola, it totally removes those make up stuff from the brush! I got quite a shock too!! I tend to use dark colours to line my eyes, sometimes eye liner gel, sometimes dark coloured eye shadows.  So those yucky stuff actually got off onto my hand!  Ew... but after that, my brushes feels so soft too!  I have this foundation brush from Elianto which I bought previously and I thought, hey it would be good to wash it as well... and there's like heaps of gatherings of the foundations that got off my brush onto my hands whilst I washed it.  Just to make sure it's clean, I wash my foundation brush twice!!! Phew... now I'm not scared that it's dirty dee.

Anyhow, I've read that it's advisable to wash the brushes like once a week.  But since I don't use make up everyday, I figure every 2 weeks would be fine for me.  Let's hope I don't get too lazy!!!

Oh by the way, I have a lot of hauls recently! I think my shopping ants are biting me, I'm once again itchy!!! With the sales, I'm eyeing some stuff from The Face Shop, Etude House and Ianti!!! Will share with everyone once I do get them.. yippeee
