Garnier Aqua Defense Fresh Non Stop Moisturizing Body Lotion is a No Go

Did any of you buy this?  If you have the intention, may I refrain you from doing so?  I'll share with you why!

Smell: The smell is rather strong for my liking.  It’s not really a fruit smell, just a sweet smell, and it’s really strong.  Why the emphasis?  There was one instance whereby, after I’ve applied the lotion for at least half an hour or so, my mom came into my room.  The first question she asked me was, wah, what is that smell?  Did you put perfume on?  Mind you, my room is not small and for that smell to be so strong and prevalent after half an hour, it is really too strong for my liking.

Eeky-feeling: I have to say that the lotion gives you an odd feeling.  Usually lotions feel soft, smooth and nice right?  Well, with this, please expect your skin to be slightly sticky, plastic-ky feel.  Somehow or rather, whilst applying onto the skin, the gel like substance seems to stick to your skin in a very plastic feel and it continues to be there.  I don’t feel that it’s being absorbed into the skin, because even when I woke up the next day, that weird feel is still on my skin.  One way to describe it is; there seems to be a filament on my skin.  Sad to say, I thoroughly dislike it!

I know, there isn't a lot of point, but I guess this is enough to say that this wouldn't be a repeat buy for me.   I was having good expectation from it, because I was quite attracted to the product in the first place.  I am sad to know that it turned out to be quite a disaster buy for me.  It’s a definite no-no recommendation from my end.

Review: Disaster Buy - Nature Republic Eye Lash Curler

You must be wondering why I say this is a disaster buy. Sigh...

When I first ventured into Nature's Republic, I really love the shop, it's layout, the stuff in it and etc.  So I thought, I guess their eye lash curler would work great no matter which one I buy... I love the look and feel of this eye lash curler.  Come on, check out the colour, such a babe okay.  The design seems good too and having checked with the SA, I made the purchase.  You'd think it'll be a good buy right??

Wrong! I have no idea why, but I guess it's for people who's eyes are wider? Because everytime I use it on my lashes, it actually pinches the side of my eyes! It's sooo annoying I tell you.  Not only that, it's supposed to curl my lashes, but it doesn't really... Sigh, I seriously regretted purchasing it.  I don't remember the price, but I honestly did not think that it would be so bad.  I think my previous cheap eyelash curlers from Watsons did not even fail me as this did.

Maybe it will work for others, but it seriously turned me off I tell ya.  I am totally not going to repurchase it again.  Rather, I've bought a new one to replace.  Goodbye you curler you!

TIdy & Neat Bag Organiser

Saw this at Plus Size Kitten's facebook and blog and I was thinking to myself that I gotta have it!  What's more, there was a promotion on for Plus Size Kitten's follower, that makes it a doubly want for sure *Whee*

I fell in love with the black and pink version and I placed my order hurriedly =p Too excited, can't wait to get my hands on 'em!

Shipment was fast, I gotta say this.  I received the package in like roughly 2 days after I made payment.
the tag's so cute!
When I saw it, I was thinking to myself that it looks small =.= I ordered M, so I was wondering to myself whether I ordered the wrong size since my bags are kinda, ahem, big.  But nonetheless, I decided to check it out and have it plonk into my everyday to work bag =D
As you can see, it is even smaller than my notebook
I really love the design of the tag.  Sucker for all cards and craft, I tell you.
This is how it looks like standing up.  I was quite surprised because the mid-compartment is very very spacious!
This is how it looks like packed with things!
See! Spacious and lovely.  I like it cause it's very light and doesn't put any additional weight to my bag.  It sits very well in fact, in my everyday bag.  I was quite pleasantly surprised by that fact.

Verdict: if you are looking for a bag organiser, do check out Tidy & Neat on their facebook

Review: ianti Luxe Jewelry Manicure 224 Sweet Pink

I'm always out to look for sheer-coloured nail varnishes.  So when I saw this Sweet Pink, it was a must buy for me!  Granted, the colour seems to be suggest glitter-ish and whitish colour, it turned out to be a rather sweet and gentle colour.

For RM7.90 for the bottle at ianti, it's quite worth the purchase.

I like it cause:
1. Sweet Pink really carries its name well.  It really does look so sweet on the nails (okay, it looks like there's no colour on my nails, but it really is a sweet pink)
2. Easy to apply; it doesn't run easily, and has just the right texture.

Sometimes, I use this as a base colour, and play around with other glitter stuff on top of it.  Works well with a number of colours =p  It's also my lazy colour!  I like to keep my nails long, and sometimes, without colours, it can feel rather plain.  So what I do is that I'll just grab this and start applying.  Works well every time.

The picture above shows my nail with only single coat.  If you want the pink to stand out even more, you can try to double or triple coat it.

Review: Sunplay Super Block Sunblock Lotion SPF130 PA + + +

Was preparing for church camp a couple of weeks ago and as we were heading to the beach (Port Dickson), I'd figured I'd better prepare a good and solid sunblock for my body!  I am quite fair, and I don't really have any intention to be burnt! haha...

Anyway, I was contemplating on the different brands when I decided that the safest thing to get is the one that contains the highest SPF.  Guess what, it's definitely Sunplay's SPF130++!

Love the word SPF 120 PA +++ (i'm very conscious on getting the 3+ signs next to my sunblock.  Paiseh ah, a bit the kiasi when it comes to sun protection weh)

It's written here that it's suitable for face and body.  However, I did not use this on my face as I'm currently facing break-outs (ARGHHHH) and I don't want to aggravate it by changing my current products.  Although the one I'm using for my face now is only SPF24, I'd rather not risk it.

Well, it's not the first time I've used it, but it's going to be the first time that I'm going to blog about it.  How did it fair?

I find that it is slightly sticky and white-ish on my skin.  Did you guys encounter the same sticky feeling as I did?  I don't actually like the feeling, cause it seems to be slightly plastic-ky.  But I guess, being someone who cares more about not being burnt, I'm a little forgiving over that plastic-ky/sticky feeling.  It does go off after a while, or maybe it's just that my sweat has mixed with it and I don't feel it cause I'm already sticky?? :p

In terms of the blockage, it does quite well, cause my colleagues commented that only skin face looks slightly tanned (yorz! and I was hoping that I didnt get darker!) as compared to my body.  Haha.. quite off right?  I guess I must've looked a little weird then!

Went to Bukit Cahaya with a bunch of youth too and a few of us took out our sunblock to apply... guess what, at least 3 of us are using the same sunblock! Haha, I guess it may be Asian girls' thing to not be tanned eh *Wink*

Flu

Feeling upset as I'm down with flu right now.. ergh! Hope to get well soon.  Anyone has any good remedy for flu?  There's a prayer meet that I'm attending in church tomorrow! Haha.. hopefully I won't spread my germs to others =.=

Succumbed!! Maybelline Clear Smooth Minerals Blusher

Told myself not to buy anything de as I'm going broke with the numerous happenings around me, but I couldn't resist the offer by Watsons!  Maybelline Blusher, one at RM35.90.  Top up RM1 to get a second one.  Was browsing Watsons with my friend when we both got drawn to this promo.

oooo...kabuki brush... whee!

the brush is soooo cute!
they stick the instruction atop the holes to stop it from coming out.  quite good.  i just remove that sticker and stick it behind the cover =p
So how did it fair?  I like it.  Why, because the colour's rather natural.  It doesn't make me look odd or that I am wearing a very bright blusher.  It looks natural and tends to look natural on me.  Being fair skin, I've experienced blushers that look like you just plaster your face with some colour on your cheeks.

As for the kabuki brush, it is rather dense and thick, so it feels odd whilst applying the powder onto my skin.  Then again, I was using Etude House' skunk brush which was soft and smooth, so to compare is rather a no no right *wink*.  It's written in the instruction that I'm to pick up the powder from the casing and pat off the excess using the kabuki brush and then apply onto cheeks in circular movements.  Using the kabuki brush does help to make the colour look more natural! Surprise!

I tried to apply using my skunk brush too.  I guess it's because of the texture of the powder (more loose), thus it tends to pick up too much of the powder and makes the colour a little too dark for my liking.  You'll need to take a bit more time to even out the colours on your cheeks.  I guess as compared to the kabuki brush, there's a need to pat a lot more of the excess off the brush (was a bit in a hurry, thus didnt pat enough =p)

All in all, it's really a good buy =D It'll probably a re-buy for me.  I'm finding that Maybelline's stuff is suitable for me eh...
