Merry Blessed Christmas!

A merry and blessed Christmas to ya all!  It's been a crazy day for me, waking up at 5am and then running around managing the stage for today's Church Celebration.  Although it's been tiring, it's great fun too.  Am blessed to have the opportunity to serve in what I'm skilled at.

I pray and hope that you have a wonderful celebration today.  Not only it's about giving of gifts, but the greatest gift was given to us when God gave us Jesus, born on Christmas Day to redeem the world and to give us life, and life abundantly.

Be blessed everyone!

Ungodly hours!  But yea, it was great fun!

This greeted me when I reached the place.  What a pleasant surprise!

In the midst of setting up the stage.

Emcees in action!

 And it's a wrap!

My tired feet looking worse to wear!  Finally they get to rest

My cutesy niece with my brother!  She loves her lace headband and smiles cheekily when we call her pretty baby!  Gosh.. only 9 months and already!

All my faourite things!  Love all the gifts received.  Am truly blessed!

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Essence with Progressive Release System

I bought this for fun when I was in Singapore a few months back seeing that it only costs SGD12.90 and I find that my skin was feeling dry then.  After using it for a while, I find that this is quickly becoming a staple in my skincare routine.

Based on the description:

This is a pump bottle and I find that a single pump is enough for my face.  It comes out as white lotion that instantly makes my skin feel smooth upon application.  The pump bottle functions well and I've not gotten into any issues with it.

After using it for a couple of months, I find that my skin no longer flakes (yea, I was having some flaky skins cum acne issues earlier due to dehydration of the skin).   The cheek area where my skin tends to feel tighter and drier ceases to feel so.  Instead it felt even more nourished.  With that too, I find that my foundation/ BB cream adheres to my skin better too.  I guess that's because my skin isn't as dry and flaky as compared to previously.

I really like it.  I've tried other essence but I don't find them working as well as this one.  I guess it has to do with the progressive release system, so the hydration stays longer compared to other essence.

When I went to Watsons/Guardian here in KL to check out the prices, I was kinda shocked to see that it costs RM79.90 per bottle.  So, when I was down in Singapore recently, I made a point to visit the store (Beaute Spring - available at Nex Singapore - next to Watsons and also in Bugis area - same row as Burger King) and stock up on it.  Even the sales lady was telling me to buy more and stock up as it's cheaper there.

This definitely will be my must buy items whenever I head down to Singapore. A decent priced item which works well for me =D

Just blogged

Hey ya all,  just blogged at http://dailyfemme.blogspot.com/2013/11/inexpensive-exfoliator-face-towels.html about using face towels as an inexpensive exfoliator.  Do head over there and check it out ya!

DIY: Balloon Bud Vase

Been cracking my head for the deco for the upcoming Logos Graduation Ceremony Luncheon.  We wanted something simple yet beautiful.  So I started googling (thank God for Google!) and found out about the Balloon Bud Vases.

Here's my attempt of them.  I used plastic cups instead of glasses as I find that the friction of the balloons and glasses made it harder and quite a number of balloons were torn due to the friction.  Plastic ones works well.

I used two methods, one as per the link above and the other from here.  Both methods works well.  However, bear in mind, if you are using the 2nd method, don't cut the bottom too wide.  Otherwise you will have problem fitting it nicely and the sides may run up.  That aside, I find that using dark colored balloons made the cups look nicer.  Unless, of course, you have thick enough balloons.  I'm sure it will work out well.

Hope you'll have fun getting your hands on it.  Enjoy this DIY.

Inexpensive exfoliator: Face Towels

It's been a while since I've truly blog.  My blogging mojo is still off, but hopefully things will get back in a swing in a bit.

My skin hasn't been all that good since earlier this year, and it does annoy the heck out of me.   The cheeks area were flaky and yet, pimples still occasionally pop out around my t-zone and  lower chin area.  I was at a loss to what to do.

I came across Paris B's entry on the use of face towel and it reminded me of the time I was using face towel back in the heyday (think primary and high school times).  I didn't put much mind to it though.  Nonetheless, a couple of weeks ago, I was just telling  my aunt that my skin was getting crankier of late and she suggested to use face towel as well.  I guess no harm giving it a try right?   So off I went to dig through my cupboard to look for those few face towels that I knew were lying around somewhere.
(Pictures from Indiamart)

Well, it's been a week since I started using it and I could already see a difference.  It's not miraculous, but I could see that my skin is much clearer and it isn't as flaky.  I also notice that the blackheads on my nose area were reduced too.  I find that overall, there's this clarity to my skin and it doesn't look as dull too.  I believe that the gentle exfoliation through the use of face towels allowed my skin to better absorb my serums and moisturisers and thus, giving the face what it needs to be better.  What a change a simple routine could do to one's face!  I'm impressed and I guess, age long method does work wonders.

How to use?

At the start, I used the face towel to gently wipe my face twice a day (morning and evening during shower times).   During the evening shower, I would place more emphasis around my nose and the side of my mouth to try to exfoliate the blackheads (it works).  As my cheeks were flaky, I would also wipe it, but upwards, so that I don't pull my skin down.

After a few days, I've now moved on to pat my face with the face towel during the morning and do the wiping motion in the evening.  Don't be harsh when you're doing the wiping motion.  Just lightly wipe all over your face one time (don't go back and wipe the same spot a few times) and then rinse it and wipe to dry the second time.

Frequency of change

I don't have a lot of face towels at home (trying to remedy it) so what I do is to use the towels for two days and wash it.  What I do is to really rinse it well after use and hang it near the window so that it can air dry and sun dry for the next use.  I don't recommend using it for more than 2 days.  Then again, this is me and maybe you have other ways (or maybe like Paris B, change on a daily basis?)

I'd recommend you to give it a try =D  It does save you from buying and trying out the variety of exfoliators out there (though, it's no harm using it alongside towel, maybe once a week)

Welcome to Daily Femme!

Welcome to Daily Femme.

I was previously blogging at Everyday's Simplicity and have decided to move to Daily Femme because mainly, I find my old blog address too long.  Heaps of my friends kept asking me what's my blog address cause they can't seem to remember it. =.='

So, I wanted something simpler this time and thought Daily Femme is a good name.

I was supposed to blog here at least one to two months ago, but life creeps up on me (I got a niece now!) and I'm still sorting things up so that things can go back to a certain routine for me.  At the moment, I would think my entries would be as simple as it could be, so do bear with me.  I'm not sure whether i want to move all my entries here, or whether to just maintain the old blog and start afresh, so I've decided to just take things one step at a time and leave my old blog as it is.  I'll try to blog at least once a week, but until a routine is fixed for me, things may be a little jagged here.

Thanks for coming to visit!

Daiso Boxes to the Rescue!

Whoosh! *the image of Mighty Mouse pops into my head when I wrote the title for this blog post hee*

I'm not huge with nail polishes.  Well, I thought I wasn't.  Come on, my collection isn't that big.  I don't do my nails like every other day (truly, I salute them who does! I think they are really, really awesome) and I'm not that good when it comes to doing my nails.  So, it truly came as a surprise when I realised that my little box could no longer hold all my nails polishes *horror*

see the overflow.  They can't fit in anymore *frown*

I kinda forgot about it and I ended up just having nail polishes lying here and there for a few weeks after this photo was taken.  Then I find myself walking around One Utama one evening and saw Daiso.  Nope, still didn't register the need for a box.  I somehow could not resist popping into Daiso wherever they are because, aw.. they have so much goodies in there!  Heehee....

Anyway, as I was walking towards the payment counter, the variety of boxes and containers caught my eye.  I literally felt a lightbulb in my head lighted up as I remembered my nail polishes!  keke...

And so, I've settled for their  wide box No. 2.  It fits my nail polishes comfortably (right height for regular polishes) and its shape allows for easy storage.  For RM5, this is definitely a good buy =D

Happy International Women's Day

A big shout out to all you ladies!  Happy International Women's Day ya!

I'm reminded of this Proverbs in the Bible that talks about women:
(from biblegateway.com)

Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character

10 [b]A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
    and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax
    and works with eager hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
    bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up while it is still night;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her female servants.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.
19 In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
20 She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women do noble things,
    but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

Be blessed always and have a wonderful time!

Watsons Deep Cleansing Nose Pore Strips with Witch Hazel and Aloe Vera Extract

To be honest, I was a little hesitant to buy this item.  Maybe because it's under the Watsons brand.  Having a in-house brand items is something that's being practiced back in Australia wayyy back, but being back in Asia, there's this sense of hesitancy and reluctance to give it a try.  Nonetheless, I was a little desperate as I couldn't find any other brand besides Biore (doesn't really work for me), so I thought, oh well, what the heck.

When I opened it up, the first thing that hits me is that it doesn't have the creases in between to make way for the shape of the nose, not as what was in the picture.  It doesn't fair well for me because I find it hard to fit the shape of my nose without those creases here and there.

Secondly, it's thinner than the Charcoal one that I was using prior. It does feel a little weird due to the lack of crease and the thin texture.

Thirdly, when I brought it close to my nose to stick it, I was suddenly engulfed by this overpowering smell!  It's herb-like and it's very, very strong.  I reckon it might be the witch hazel smell.  Ergh... if you are sensitive to smell, please, stay away from this product.

In the midst of all these, I have to say that it works.  It really sticks to your nose, so you have to make sure it's position rightly because sticking, because it doesn't budge once you stick it in.  Also, because it's thinner than the usual strips, it dries rather quickly.  It's easily removable too, which I believe is because it's thin.  At the same time, it does clear my nose of the gunks!  Nope, no pictures of the gunk this time round.  I doubt you can see it clearly though.

Seriously, it's just the smell that turns me off.  Otherwise, I'd say this is a good buy.

Silkygirl Gentle Eye Make Up Remover

Another whim purchase that proves to be... a whim.

I got this during a visit to Watson.  These days, it's all about getting the essentials and as I was paying for the things that I bought, I paid more than RM20 and was eligible to make a purchase of items at a discounted rate.  As I was browsing the items, I noticed this Silkygirl Eye Make Up Remover and I remembered I was almost done with my L'oreal Eye Make Up Remover.  Hence, without thinking things through, I grabbed this.  I think it was one big bottle cum one small bottle for around RM16 (RP for both is about RM22, me thinks.  Please correct me if I am wrong).

Do I like it?  Well, in all honesty, it does it's job in removing eyeliners but not in the best way.  I tend to have to rub my eyelid quite a few times (I can't help comparing it with my Maybelline and L'oreal Eye Make Up Removers) before the liner comes off.  Mind you, it is Pencil eyeliner, granted it is waterproof.   Things aren't as good especially when I use a eyelid primers.  God forbid if I were to use primer with liquid/ gel eyeliner.  It's a mess!  Not only that, it doesn't do justice in removing my mascara.  I have to hold it against my eye for quite a while to remove them, and even after that, it's a slow rub to get the mascara off my lashes.

I guess if you tend to use light make up, this might be the thing for you.  However, for the price, I think I might as well revert to either Maybelline or L'oreal Eye Make Up Removers.

(Uh Oh, I just realise I've never blogged about the Maybelline and L'oreal Eye Make Up Removers!  I'll try to remedy this ASAP)

Change of Blog Address

Okay, I know this is abrupt, but I've been contemplating it for a bit.
will be changing my blog address to dailyfemme.blogspot.com.  The reason for the change is that I find my old address is too long.  After playing with some names and etc, I've settled on for dailyfemme.

As I know some are still reading my current blog so, if you are, please note that I will be moving my blog over to dailyfemme.blogspot.com in about a month's time.  After which, this current blog address will cease to exist.  I will be doing a full replacement instead of creating a new blog (blogger is good! I can just edit/ change my blog address instead of doing manual postings)

So, if you are seeing this post and don't want to miss out on future postings, do remember to bookmark the new blog address ya.

Thanks for being such wonderful readers of mine! lotsa love.  Hope you don't mind the change.

Sunplay Skin Aqua UV Moisture Milk SPF 50+ PA +++

On usual occasion, I wouldn't have purchase this because for one, it's moisture milk and given my combination skin, I do dread that it will get oilier.  However, this came with a package during a Groupon promotion by Sunplay.  I decided to make the purchase because it comes directly from Sunplay company.

Description from the bottle:
For Face and Body
Daily Use

New Solarex-3 technology provides a unique UV defense system that combines superior photostability, high moisture retention and anti-aging properties.

  • High SPF50+PA+++ provides long hours UVA & UVB protection
  • Super Hyaluronic Acid for long hours hydration
  • Collagen and Pro. Vitamin B5 to improve skin elasticity and helps to reduce fine lines
  • Waterproof
I would think that this product would be suitable for those who are dry skin.  With immediate application, I can feel that my skin is more supple.  It does dry to a little powdery feel, and it would work if you don't mind it.

However, for my skin, it's a no good.  My skin turns oily within 2-3 hours.  Also, my BB Cream slides within about 4 hours into the day, making my skin look a little patchy and oily at the same time *shudder*.  Nonetheless, I would have to say that the SPF50+PF+++ does work because when I'm under the sun, I do not feel like my skin is being burnt (it definitely does feel like it with the crazy burning weather these days).

I've actually stopped using it on my face and resort to use this on my body.  At least it works on my body and does not go to waste that way.

Happy Valentine's Day

Amidst the busy Chinese New Year Celebration, I want to wish everyone Happy Valentine's Day!  A lot of people equate Valentine's Day to couples only but I do find that Valentine's Day is a celebration for loved ones.  Because you guys are my lovely readers, here's a rose for you =D

May love continue to be showered upon your life and may you love freely and abundantly always....

Etude House BR310 Nail Polish

Seriously, my random purchases are coming back.  I remember walking into Etude House, not exactly wanting to buy anything, but was just browsing when I saw some nail polishes!  Since there was a promotion taking place, I ended up with 3 nail polishes along with some other items (to be shared later).

Since it is still Chinese New Year, I decided to commemorate the celebration by painting my nails with a new colour (For Chinese New Year, we are deemed to have something new as a way to welcome the year ahead of us =D)

The one I'm sharing is Etude House BR310 Nail Polish.  Seriously, one thing that does annoy me is the fact that Etude House just uses code to label their nail polishes.  Given their cute image, it seems like such a contrast.

This colour, I believe, could be label as brown nude.  I like that it gives my nail a slightly posh look, without going over board.  It's subtle enough to look posh but yet, soft enough to look as though I'm not wearing anything.  It's good for me because my clothes tend to be colourful and hence, I really don't want to end up having clashes between my nails and my clothes.

In terms of application, it is quite easy.  I don't find it too streaky.  However, I realised that I have to keep stirring the bottle (so to speak) as it seems to thicken rather quickly.  I have to do my nails quick too because it dries fast and if it's not done nicely, it will dry to look chunky (if there's such a description).

For RM9.90 (with 50% discount), I guess one cannot complain too much.  Loving how it makes my fingers and toes look fairer though *wink*

Blessed Chinese New Year!

Blessed Chinese New Year to everyone!

Time does fly pretty quick ya.  It's already February, and without noticing it, it's already Chinese New Year.  Woah....This marks the beginning of house visiting and angpao collecting (or angpao giving for those who are married :p ) and loads of Chinese New Year snacking along the way ....Oh, truly.... it's all those relatives visiting and loud chatter everywhere that's going to be fun, don't you think? I'm looking forward to catching up with friends too during this break.

Hope you'll have fun during this break and may this be a joyous celebration for all.

Decluttering my closet

It's near Chinese New Year and one of the things that we do is really to declutter!  Have to make sure the house is clean, I'm sure that's what you will hear from your parents if you are chinese, or alternatively, the practice that you do ever since you are a kid eh?  This year, I've taken to decluttering my closet.  I'm bad at it.  I tend to buy clothes and not throw clothes away and thus they keep accumulating (Praise God for last year as I've eased off on my shopping stint).  So, what triggered me to this bout of decluttering?

My church has taken to run a Recycling Project and this round, what they intend to recycle are leather and clothes material.  As I think about the clothes that I have in my closet, I realised that I have clothes which I've not touched for almost 5 years (horror!)  That is really a long time and some may even deemed it hogging.  A lot of times, the clothes are in really good condition (I guess my family's trait is that we take good care of our clothing cause I have t-shirts which by now, would age more than 15 years!) and I feel reluctant to part with them because they are in good condition!  How can one throw away good condition stuff?  Aih...

Anyhow, I've resolute to recycle some of the clothes which I've not worn for a year or two and pack them up into a bag for this round of recycling.

(I know, it doesn't look like there's a lot, but I think I've packed almost 20 pieces of clothing in that little bag there =p)

In some ways, it kinds of frees me as I don't feel the need to flip through all my clothes to find one that fits or one that suits me (trust me, some are really old fashion) or suits the occasion.  Plus, it feel rejuvenating to know that I've learnt to give up a little more than usual and not turn into someone who hogs things all the time.

I do believe that what we do physically have an emotional or a spiritual effect on our lives.  As I declutter, I reflect that as the year begins, I too, need to declutter some of the old habits or old practices and move on with the new year.  It's always good to begin the year light, and I guess this does spill over to every aspects of our lives eh?

If you're like me, one who tend to keep things and are reluctant to throw things because you think, oh, I have a use for this later or that later... to tell you honestly, the later doesn't really happen.  Hence, why don't we instead clear them up and focus on the present.  Enjoy the present and look forward to the things that may come your way as the year begins...

Shills Cherry Blossom 6 in 1 BB Cream

For the strangest reason, I was really attracted to this BB Cream when I saw it at some website (no recollection of it now though).  This BB Cream is called Shills Cherry Blossom 6 in 1 BB Cream.  It is probably one of my very first full size BB cream which I bought (minus Maybelline, though I find that it doesn't fit the "full size" term).  To digress a little, I find that the brand Shills seems to be a little similar with Benefit (I mean a little) as I noticed that there are some products that's pretty similar to Benefit.  What's more, it's priced a little more affordable as compared to Benefit.  Maybe something to explore?
(please excuse the photo.  My notebook crashed recently and loads of my stuff are gone :( Have to retake and the bottle's quite faded as you can see)

Back to the review.  I remember that I was rather intrigued by its black packaging which gives off a "cool" aura to it.  However, to my disappointment, the tube is just a normal plastic tube.  Well, I'll say at least it's recyclable.  Other than that, it works quite similar to normal plastic tube.  You flip it open and press to get the BB cream out.  The nozzle is not too big, but if you press too much, it might come out too much though.  Thankfully, the tube is not those super soft tube that a slight press will trigger everything out.Another downside to it is that because it is black and it is plastic, my fingerprints tend to be visible everywhere.  Not very good sight.

Texture wise, it is thicker and more cream like as compared to the other types of BB Cream I've used.  I guess because of its thickness, it does seem to last me at least 8 hours.  Most of the others are pretty much gone after 5-6 hours.

As my skin gets oily easily around the T-zone area, this BB Cream does cause my nose to be oilier.  My nose tends to glisten by mid-day when I am using this.  Quite a hassle as I do not have a habit of blotting my face but whenever I have this one, I have to make sure that I do blot.  Imagine walking around with oily nose, definitely not a good sight to see.

The downside of this BB Cream is that it doesn't provide any sun protection.  Although I do put my own sunblock, somehow, knowing that the BB Cream has sunblock gives me another level of assurance that I am protected some how.

Still, at the end of the day, I'm just hoping to finish the BB Cream quickly as it gets thicker along the way.

I guess, it won't be in my rebuy list.

Essence 15 Behind the Scenes Kajal Pencil Eyeliner

Okay, I truly am a sucker for grey these days.  When I saw this eyeliner, like the brush, I couldn't resist because I was looking for a grey eyeliner.  This truly stood out for me along with the brush... man, I have it bad, ain't I?  I am not one that is suited for pencil eyeliner because I have oily lids and they tend to smudge on me within the hour I wore them.  Hence, it is rarely that I do reach out for pencil eyeliner.  I've even given some away because they smudge within minutes of me applying it *shudder*

However, for this darling grey, I couldn't resist.  Plus, I think the price helps to seal the deal for me as it was selling for only RM4.90.  Such a bargain item and it’s cheaper than some of our drugstore items.

I'd say this is dark grey.  I tend to avoid black eyeliner these days because not only I look like a panda when they smudge, black eyeliner tends to dull my skin and makes me look sickish.  Dark grey seems to suit me just fine, even if I were to do smokey eyes, it suits me well.  I tend to line my eyes thickly, instead of a tightlining or lining my eyes as near to my lashes as possible.  This does help to make my eyes pop and I love it for doing so.  But like I said, I don’t have high expectation on it.  It does smudge, but it’s not too bad as long as I remember to layer my eyelids with a bit of powder to keep the oiliness at bay.  As I am in the office most of the time, it does last me at least 4 hours before smudging slightly.  That is wayyy good de for me.  Also, it tends to fade off slightly but  tends to stay on till the evening.

For the price, it’s good.  Nonetheless, I'm on the lookout for something that can last me longer.

Picture: from ebay as I can't seem to snap a nice pic of this eyeliner.

Human Nature Strengthening Natural Shampoo

I started browsing Down To Earth after reading about Paris B's post.  I have to admit, reading beauty bloggers can definitely create a hole in your pocket! Haha...

Nonetheless, I've been looking around for a shampoo that can help with my hair loss.  It's getting quite bad in the recent years, and I was hunting high and low for a shampoo that works for me.  I came across their Strengthening Natural Shampoo and after having read reviews of it, decided to make a purchase once I'm done with my old ones (my way of curbing my splurges now is to buy replacement when I am about to finish).  This works very well for me as Down To Earth's postage services (of course, with our Poslaju as well) is truly excellent.  I ordered on a Thursday mid morning and received my items the very next day!  Talk about being efficient.

Here's the quick overview from Down to Earth's website:

Quick Overview

Scientifically proven to result in 80% less hair fall and 90% thicker hair, compared to other chemical-based shampoos containing SLS/SLES.
Aloe vera-olive scent.

When your hair's been through the perils of chemical treatments, such as styling, perming and rebonding, it's bound to get brittle and fragile.  This will cause hair to thin and fall.  Now the new CreamFoam technology infuses your hair with Philippine coco nectar and hydrolyzed proteins to restore your hair to its former glory, naturally.  Your scalp gets some hydrating TLC also, so your hair is stronger from root to tip!

And this is what was written behind the bottle:

Save your hair before it's gone! Clinically proven to reduce hairfall by 80% after 4 weeks of continuous use, our Natural Strengthening Shampoo is infused with hydrolyzed protein to fortify your hair, and Philippine coco nectar, a revolutionary ingredient that bursts with amino acids, vitamins and minerals.  Our breakthrough CREAMFoam technology acts like a lotion to moisturise your hair and scalp, leaving you with hair so much stronger, healthier and shinier!

Below are the ingredients.  Pretty au-naturel, I'd say:

I've been using it for 4 weeks now and here's my review on it:

Packaging:
I bought the 200ml bottle and I have to say the packaging fits very nicely and allows me to drip the bottle well with its curve shape.  One thing that gave me a bit of a problem was the cap.  I appreciate the fact that it's tight and helps to ensure no leakage during postage and all, but I have to say that it's REALLY tight.  I have a hard time opening it to use.  It might be a defect for just this bottle, I'm not sure, as I bought the 50ml bottle and it doesn't have give me the same hiccups.  That said, we'll see whether it gets looser as time passes.

Smell:
Okay, I have no idea how to describe the smell, but it's definitely sharp!  It's not the best smell on a product, but I do wonder if it's due to the fact that it's all natural?  It's something that I'm trying to get used to though.

Texture:
One thing I do notice is that I have to use a little bit more than the conventional chemical laced hair shampoos in order to get it foamed.  The first time I used it, I had to top up half way cause the hair was getting tangled. It took me the third use to remember to add a bit more.  Another thing I had to make sure I remember is to shake the bottle.  It took me quite a few times to remember it.  With this combo, the lather works out pretty nicely.

Does it strengthen my hair though?  That is yet to be determined.  I do know that my food intake hasn't been as healthy as I wished it to be, and it may have contributed to the amount of hair that's dropping off, as well as it may just be nature and the amount of hair that drops off from my head just tends to be more than others.  Nonetheless, in comparison to the shampoos I've used thus far, this seems to be helping a little.  The amount of hair that drops off during shower seems to be lesser.

I guess I'll continue to use this for a while and see if it helps in the long run.

One thing for sure, I don't have to worry too much about stocking up because I have to say, the delivery service by Down To Earth is just awesome.

Beautilicious Magic Spell Auto Eyeliner

About a year ago, when I started to really explore on eyeliner, I grabbed this at Parkson.  I think they were clearing stocks as this was going for 50% off.  I tried the color and found that it was nice, just the way I like it to be and grabbed it.

I'd have to say, this a cream eyeliner pencil.  If you don't have oily lids, I think this would be quite a wonderful item for you.   In terms of application, one draw and you have a dark brown eyeliner sitting nicely on your eyelids.    Like what's written there, it comes with a smudger (a rubber type.. still figuring it out) as well as a mini integrated sharpener.  Great if you want to get that waterline drawn.

Sadly though, I do have oily lids and this is something that was thrown aside for a fair while.

Nonetheless, I came back to using it much, much later.. like a year or so and I found that it works well for me!  I guess the cream has dried up a fair bit and now it sits well on my eyelids even without needing any primer.

It glides on easily on my lids (creamy but not very) and it stays smooth.  No pulling necessary.  Love the brown, love the texture and love the ease of application.

I don't know about you, but I don't seem to see this brand anywhere now.  Any idea what happened to it?

I don't mind buying it again and keeping it aside before using it.

Binning at the start of the year

This is it folks.  It's the start of the year, and the first thing I did was to start clearing stuff from my room.  I have to say that I have a tendency to hog and keep things thinking that I will use it in the near future.  Many a times, I don't and I just keep and keep and keep.  This year, I'm resolved to cut down on the things that I keep in my room, because I want to keep things as simple as I can... what's the best way than to start throwing out things that's been used and bin them.. *wink*

Kao Essential Damage Care Nuance Airy Shampoo.
Got this during my last Singapore trip.  Don't see it anywhere in KL though.  I tried this whilst I was bunking at a friend's place and found that it really does help to keep my hair light and bouncy.  So, off I went to the nearest Watsons and grabbed it for SGD2.  Totally a bargain purchase!

Garnier Mineral 24H Dry Care
Bought this on a whim, and partly cause my previous one was finished.  Smells good and it does help to keep sweat away.  However, it's a little too wet during application.  Am glad I've finished it =D

Elken Elysyle Coral Glow Lip Gloss
Shared this purchase with a friend cause the colour looks nice.  However, I dislike that it is sticky upon application.  I was trying my very best to finish using it because, really, how many people would like their lips to have to sticky feeling?  I sure don't.  Boy, am I glad I'm done with it.

Korean Brand Pink Lipgloss
Okay, this is a cheat.  I didn't finish it but I decant it.  why?  Because the top portion broke.  It looks so pink here right?  But in actual fact, once applied, it gives my lip a very natural soft look which I love.  Hence the decanting.... (sorry, can't remember the brand though)

Maybelline Mineral BB Cream
Okay, I cut this into half because I knew there were more inside this little tube.  Sorry for the maimed look.  Review is here.

Beautilicious Magic Spell Auto Eyeliner (vitalizing + waterproof)
Seriously, I do buy a lot of things on a whim eh?  This is one of them too.  I was testing out some eyeliners and when I saw this on sale, I just grabbed it without thinking twice.  Initially, when I first used it, it smeared and it felt too creamy for my lids (I got oily lids).  After leaving it lying for almost 1 year (I don't really remember how long), I picked it up from my drawer and start using it.  What do you know?  It turned out to be one of the best eyeliner for me.  It didn't smear and it truly is waterproof.  I used it so frequently that it was used up pretty quickly.  From this experience too, I realised that for eyeliners to work for me, I have to leave them be for a while before using it on my lids.

Random Compact Powder
This was a crazy and silly purchase.  I went to Daiso, saw this little thing and bought it to use.  I have to say that it works pretty well to stave the oilies off my face.  I would guess that given this is from Japan, the QA is better than in this part of Asia.  I know most people do freak out for this is just RM5... (mental block eh? Cheap things = no quality), but really, this is a good purchase.  I've not been back to Daiso to buy more because I already had a back up from a different brand.  However, if you are looking for cheap bargains and from a trusted brand, I'd say head on to Daiso and have a look around.  You'll be surprised how much gems you can find in that shop.
